Gen. 24:67
And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah's tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his wife; and he loved her: and Isaac WAS COMFORTED after his mother's death.
Genesis 24:1-67 is indeed a catalog of all that a joyful, lasting and comforting marriage relationship represents. It covers everything, right from the conception of a marriage to the search, the finding, the proposal and the consummation of the marriage itself.
Several things in life can and have indeed been bequeathed; wealth, empire, estate, etc, but a good marriage? No!. No skill, carefulness, culture, character, education, wealth, power, fashion or beauty can offer this, a good marriage can only be given by God, the initiator of marriage.
Prov. 19:14
House and wealth are inherited from fathers, but a prudent wife is from the Lord.
No generation has suffered terribly like ours in matters of relationship and marriage. Everyday we keep hearing of how more and more relationships or marriages are either taking the lives of one time sworn lovers or destroying their dreams and consequently their destinies.
The reason behind most of these horrible tales are basically foundational. Most of those who suffer breakage, violation, loss of life or severe marital life threatening injuries, either got it outrightly wrong from the very start or neglected something key that should not have been overlooked in their background. In summary, these have foundational issues that was never well managed.

If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?
No matter how beautiful or expensively decorated a house is, if it's foundation is faulty, it's just a matter of time before the cracks start surfacing and thereafter, it starts caving and eventually it's collapse and this is exactly what our generation is witnessing today.
All the secrets to a COMFORTING MARRIAGE, when, where and how to find the right partner, are all very key to enjoying marital bliss and these Gen. 24:1-67 well covers.
From the conception and initiation; Gen. 24:3, to the breed (tribe) you marry from, Gen. 24:3, to the place where you find your partner, Gen. 24:11, to the timing of the life of your partner, Gen. 24:11, to the prayers to be made, Gen. 24:12-14, to the resume, the profile of your partner, Gen. 24:16-20, to the confirmation, Gen. 21:21,26-27, to the expression of affection, Gen. 24:22,26, to the proposal, Gen. 24:36-37,49, to the family consent and acceptance, Gen. 24:50-51, to the acceptance of proposal by the bride, Gen. 24:58, to the release of the bride, Gen. 24:51, to the reception and provision of victual by both the bride and the groom family, Gen. 24:32-33,53-54, to the practices of the groom and finally the makeup of the bride. 24:64-65, all of these statistics must be considered and strictly adhered to in order to have a comforting marriage like Isaac. Gen. 24:67.
Marriage unlike what most of our youths think and say is not a one man venture. It doesn't respect, "I know what I want". That you feel you are of age or are done with schooling or that you are working, are still not enough qualifications to start a relationship or marry. From the very thought of marriage to executing your thoughts and plans, your loved ones and your church must be a part of your every choice and move, this is because marriage is bigger than whatever anyone thinks or knows, marriage is a mystery, it's knowledge is as unsearchable as the the relationship between Christ and the church.
Eph. 5:30-31
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
Mr and Miss Single, who is counseling you, Mr and Mrs Married, who is advising you. Like God, permit me to ask; "Who told you that you are...?" Please, can you tell us, who told you that thing that you know, believe and that you are practicing? Who is feeding your marriage? Who is driving that your relationship? Above all of these, WHO IS BACKING YOU ON YOUR MARITAL JOURNEY?
